Elfman is writing the main theme for the video game, “Fable” appearing on Xbox. Should be interesting. I wonder if anyone else will pursue Elfman in the future for game soundtracks.
Well, they do make a lot of Simpsons games…
I had heard something about this months ago, but the source couldn’t confirm anything at the time. And there ya go, it was true. Heh.

Sweet. The link didn’t work for me earlier for some reason, but I just checked it out and it’s some cool stuff. Hopefully sound clips will be put up because I don’t have an x-box, and if I did I probably wouldn’t buy it anyway.
Hmm… I thought of posting this about a year ago… I own an xbox, and naturally, take a look at some trailers etc. An early Fable trailer had such unbelievably elfman-esque music… I thought it HAD to be Elfman! Still, maybe it was a temp track, but yeah – I think he suits the project well, and I’m quite looking forward to the game. Looks pretty revolutionary.

The JHuh. The game looks pretty good. I’m not really into video/computer games and this one looks very geeky and time-consuming, but at the same time holds appeal for me. Too bad it’s only on X-Box
This wouldn’t be the first time that Elfman has been approached for video games. I hear that he is being considered to do the next Metal Gear Solid Game (it’s either him or Harry Gregson-Williams, who scored the last one).
Elfman scoring MGS!? I’d like to see that! Vigilante hero action is hardly his style… but out of sheer curiousity, I’d like to hear what he comes up with – if he is hired, that is. The next Metal Gear game is going to be set in a jungle… I bet Danny would use rubbishy midi synths of ‘ethnic’ instruments, like he did in the Hulk

Have you forgot his great score to Instinct. A great “jungle” score.
And his score for MI alone should prove that he could do a bang-up action game score.Nat
