GuestI’m a huge fan of danny’s scores for all the good movies…
I´ve heard that Danny Elfman wants to make the music for the HELLBOY Movie who´s directing by the same director who makes Blade 2, Mimic and Cronos… ect..
I mean that is a great Idea… Elfman for HELLBOY…

GuestMarco Beltrami is Guillermo Del Toro`s usual suspect but his music is not for us so i hope he change the composer

Guest100% sure it’ll be Beltrami. Unless there is some cosmic power shift, and someone wants on the film that can outweigh Beltrami.
Otherwise, it’s Beltrami.

GuestOf all of Beltrami’s scores I really like what he did with Mimic. For me it is his best score, but who knows maybe Danny will have a chance to do a little music, remember that Beltrami did all the music for the Scream movies except that Aria that Danny wrote – I can wish too can’t I?

GuestBeltrami wrote the score to Mimic? That’s a great one! Man, have I got a lot left to learn about scores…
-E (who knows relatively little about film scores compared to Nat, Richard, et al. Like Nat, I’m also currently on a wind band kick…especially Thomas Duffy, but I’m looking for some more good wind band lit, so anybody who has anything to add, please email me, as I’m looking to expand my collection)

GuestNot a big Hellboy fan, either–but like Superman, I suppose I’ll have to go if Danny does the score….
I’m looking at the November issue of Wizard (a comic magazine), and it has a ton of blurbs about up-coming comic-related movies. Anyways, it says that the release date for the new Superman is still to be determined. And it also states that Hellboy is scheduled to be released in the middle of 2004 (the same for Blade 3).
But most importantly, it states that Spiderman 2 is supposed to be released in May 2004!! (If anyone’s even half as interested as I am). Unfortunately, it doesn’t officially state who is doing the music for any of the films.
Wizard is usually pretty good at being a reliable source–just don’t believe anything they publish in the month of April!

GuestMy question is when is the Ghost Rider movie coming out?

Nat (who’s brother is a big Ghost Rider fan so he bugs me every day about it)

GuestHellboy is an amazing, original comic, and Elfman would be the man. But the collaboration between Guillermo del Toro (who, by the way, is an excellent director) and Beltrami has indeed been fruitful. Anyway, I was reading Hellboy’s graphic novel “Conqueror Worm” some days ago and I had Elfman music in my head…

Guest“Hellboy?” Sounds like Hoboy…which was an antiquated name for the modern-day oboe (used to be called the “French Hoboy” by the English, I think, back in the 16th and 17th centuries…or was it the Germans?) It also sounds like some sort of Cajun food…a “different” version of the Po’ Boy. (I just had crawfish etouffee (sp?) and Bananas Foster – my FAVORITE dessert of all time – so that’s what got me thinking about it
Crawfish and flaming bananas…mmm…)LOL! Elfman walks into a Cajun restaurant: “Yes, I’d like the Hellboy with remoulade (sp?) sauce, please…” *time lapse* Waiter/Waitress: “And for dessert, sir?” Elfman: “Yes, I’d like an order of flaming bananas.” Nothing goes better with a “hellish” entree than dessert that’s been properly seared
Uh…yeah.-E

GuestI hope that Danny makes the score for the Hellboy Movie…. Beltrami makes cool an dark music.. with good actions… like mimic, scream, blade 2 and … but i mean that he didn’t cant score that creepy sound stuff like Danny… he is the one who can scored that film it must be… (for scenes with graveyards, and old lovecraftian Monsters and all that other really great pulp scenes, and the “outsider” character like Hellboy…) it must be…
