GuestUm, I most definatly did not get that Elfman vibe from this….I didn’t really get anything from it emotionally………I just didn’t like it…….at all……..
Anyhow, I do not think this was Elfmanish in any aspect. It did sound like game music. Well, I know I am not gonna buy this game hehe…
Knight (If you want cool game music, check out Bill Brown or Sonic Mayhem, but it’s not Elfmanish either, just good)

GuestI second Knight on that. It doesn’t sound Elfmanish at all to me. Game music, yeah… but rather game music from those 80s NES games.
Who can top Jeremy Soule’s TOTAL ANNIHILATION anyway ?

GuestI don’t think anyone can refute that the best video game music ever is Super Mario Brothers, Level 1-2.
Duh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh… duh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh…..

GuestMMmmmmmm . . . last year my band had this REALLY incredible oboe player (seriously . . . REALLY, heartbreakingly good). At our final concert last year, since he was the concert master, he walked out on stage dancing and playing the Super Mario Bros music before he started tuning us. It cracked everyone up because we weren’t expecting it either

GuestI kinda heard the elfman influence in it, until that trey parker-sounding dude started singing.

GuestDanny Elfman also rocks! Oh, and speaking of Danny Elfman (go figure): I’ve always thought that Track 16 of Elfman’s Forbidden Zone–“Chamber Music”–sounds a lot like video game music. You know, like the general feel of an old NES or Sega Genesis role playing game, perhaps just as you walk into a royal castle. Has anyone else had this thought?

GuestThe Forbidden Zone music that’s playing over on Rick’s site sounds very familiar to certain parts of the BeetleJuice video game music from the original Nintendo game.
(Don’t get too upset, though–the boy wasn’t ripped off. I think the music in parts of the game were credited to Danny. I could be wrong, but I think I remember seeing his name pop up at the end)….

GuestIt could sound a little bit like a bad midifile from nightmare before christmas.
Not the melody, but the instruments.
But I guess all midifiles sounds like that. - AuthorPosts
