In Demolition Man one of the tracks was so Elfman-esque that they used it as the trailer music for the Men In Black movies.
I also find it funny that no cinematic Batman music after Elfman’s first Batman score can escape that whole big, dark orchestral thing. Goldenthal’s Batman as well as Shirley Walker’s or even Jeol McNeely’s rendition of the 1950’s TV theme all follow the Elfman standard.
Maybe Hanz Zimmer and Newton Howard will stray on the new Batman but I think that’s the standard at this point. I’m content with that as the standard too.
