July 26, 2012 at 8:02 am #67573John MullinParticipantThe name of this movie has been changed to EPIC… comes out May 2013.
OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL is due out in March 2013… hope he’s able to stay on both!
November 26, 2012 at 11:55 am #67685DannyBikerParticipantIf you would have just posted the link once, I think we could have lived with that and even check your page…but flooding the boards means that :
1. all your posts will get deleted
2. no one here will check your page
3. I don’t think you care anyway.February 22, 2013 at 11:39 pm #39161March 23, 2013 at 2:44 pm #39086ddddeeeeParticipant“The director also pointed out that the exciting, score for the film was composed by none other than Danny Elfman, and that it’s a throwback to the music of classic Hollywood action movies.”
April 14, 2013 at 12:53 am #39104ddddeeeeParticipantSome of Elfman’s score plays on the website if you play the archery game. http://www.epicthemovie.com/epic-movie-games/archery
April 14, 2013 at 2:50 pm #39105sandyclawsParticipantIt sounds like John Powell. Interesting.
April 15, 2013 at 7:55 am #39106DannyBikerParticipantGreat music, crappy game.
April 23, 2013 at 11:44 pm #39116ddddeeeeParticipantSteven Tyler sings a song in the movie…
April 24, 2013 at 9:16 am #39117DannyBikerParticipantThere goes the end credits…
April 24, 2013 at 5:57 pm #39119ddddeeeeParticipantSoundtrack announcements are coming later and later these days huh?
April 25, 2013 at 3:44 am #39121lonzoeParticipantI know. And though I’m not interested in a song album release. There hasn’t been any announcements regarding that either. I wonder what’s the up? Hopefully this won’t be another case of a digital only release.
April 26, 2013 at 8:44 pm #39128ddddeeeeParticipantAlbum coming on the 28th of May.
May 3, 2013 at 9:17 pm #39134ddddeeeeParticipantThere are samples from the album on Amazon, but you have to go on each individual track to hear them.
May 3, 2013 at 11:20 pm #39135LambegueParticipantI like what I hear. It’s quite a bit Powell style, but one can still recognise Elfman own caracteristics. There are agreable theme that appears in those samples, too…Well all this is promising.
But if all the track are available on the amazon page, then the album is only 34 minutes long…This is quite short…It was also the case for “Promised land”, but there wasn’t so much music in the movie itself : but in a animated movie like this I think there is much more music. So I hope the album will be longer…May 3, 2013 at 11:31 pm #39136ddddeeeeParticipantThe page for the album says the score is 52 minutes.
May 3, 2013 at 11:38 pm #39137LambegueParticipantOh. I only checked for this info on the physical album page. How stupid can I be…
Well this is reassuring waiting for the remaining of the samples then, should be here soon.May 3, 2013 at 11:43 pm #39138ddddeeeeParticipantHere’s some of Elfman’s score in action.
May 3, 2013 at 11:59 pm #39139LambegueParticipantVery nice. Seems to fit the movie perfectly. I’m expecting more and more from this.
It’s the last score by Elfman for this year, I think ? There were a lot of rumors on different potential works, but none of them seems to get confirmed…May 4, 2013 at 11:32 am #39140ddddeeeeParticipantAll the samples are together now, Elfman only album.
May 15, 2013 at 11:12 am #39148ddddeeeeParticipantSomeone’s uploaded it to youtube if you can’t wait until the CD release.

One of the main themes sounds a lot like the Witches’ theme from Oz.
May 22, 2013 at 1:30 pm #39592Descent Into MysteryParticipantWow! It DOES sound like John Powell, Harry Gregson-Williams, and all those Hans Zimmer cronies. I guess if you can’t beat them then join them.
May 24, 2013 at 11:52 am #39589ddddeeeeParticipantJust got the album, no linear notes just pictures and a list of performers. Seems like the largest orchestra Elfman has used for a while.
