GuestI’d previously thought that Face Like a Frog, scored of course by Danny Elfman, was much too obscure to actually be available anywhere… but just yesterday I found it available to order at:

Has anyone here seen Face Like a Frog? Anyone own it? Is it worth $35.00?

GuestI’ve seen it, and own it. A friend of mine recorded it ten years ago, on a late night show…
What you need to know : It’s a short film, maximum 15 minutes!!! It is strange, and when I mean strange, I means REALLY STRANGE. It’s a crazy wacky cartoon, very hard to understand (at least if you’re not on drugs), and truely, I don’t have any idea what this film means… But, the music is so cool, and One of the characters, a red-haired dragon with the voice (and the look) of Danny Elfman, sings a fantastic “Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo” song, called “Don’t go in the basement”!!! And that, my dear Mootum, is worth buying it !!!!

GuestI’ve seen it . . . and I’ve got a video of it somewhere around here. I avoid watching that part except to scare the bejeezus out of friends. It’s like an acid trip or something times 10.
The scary part about it is that this actually had to be thought out . . . it’s not like a painting where something could just *happen*. This took PLANNING and THOUGHT and that’s what I find so frightening.
It’s almost like my dreams, which I often have trouble describing to friends because things morph and change so frequently and nothing makes any since. My dream last night involved an avalanche, blood dripping from the ceiling (it changed back and forth between that and a nosebleed), a lion, me morphing into a German shepherd and then being chased by another German shepherd if that tells you anything. I don’t need Face Like a Frog do be putting any ideas into my subconscious. It’s just friggin’ bizarre and if you’re not on something you’ll probably wonder what the heck you just saw.

GuestOne time I had a dream where I was walking down the street and noticed something large in the sky behind me. I turned to see a giant loaf of bread falling at me. I tried to run away but it fell on me. Instead of being squished, I was pushed through the pavement and into a pit filled with regular-sized loaves of bread.

Guestoh god, let’s not go too deep into dreams. Last night I killed an alien (but it looked like a person) with a flare gun. What it meant is still eluding me. sheesh…. but part of the dream was that we were hiding from this alien in our house and we had to set the table for extra people joining us, like a table cloth and adding the extra part into the table…And when I woke up, Mom said my nephews were coming for dinner and she set the table with a table cloth and put the extra piece in. How wild was that?
