GuestDOES ANYONE HERE KNOW WHAT IS EXACTLY INVOLVED IN FILM SCORING – FROM THE POINT OF BEING HIRED TO THE POINT OF WRAPPING THE MOVIE PRODUCTION INDEFINETELY?????

GuestHmm, I’m fairly certain that this isn’t Danny Elfman related. You might want to try Filmscoremonthly.com.
I share your enthusiasm about film scoring, but please, the caps lock, (like driving) is a privilege, not a right. Pretend like it’s billed to your room — so don’t overuse it.

GuestI don’t wanna sound like a jerk, I really don’t, but…… please look around and get a better idea of how things are done around here (read the little paragraph by Ryan at the top of the page, observe the types of subjects that are more commonly discussed, etc.), and kinda read what you write before you post it, and try to lay off the caps, because they’re annoying to read. I’m sorry if I sound rude, but things are starting to get pretty obnoxious around here.

GuestWow, this could be his/her first steps along the road to a dazzling film career and a hundred fan sites. Give space, man. Maybe he/she will end up composing in semibreves, or only for larger instruments. This could be a chance for a future fanbase to extract psychological data on his/her inspirations and thinking. Perhaps the spelling and incorrect usage of “INDEFINETELY” indicates the prolific use of extraneous instrumentation in unusual combinations. Or perhaps he/she is merely inexperienced on the web (and in English?) and would find somewhere such as http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0634006363/ref=cm_bg_f_1/102-9105396-4934527?v=glance&s=books (paste carefully, now) of better practical value than http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/features/beacomposer.asp
Have a nice day, now. :o)

Guestooohhhhh… biting!
I just so happen to have that Richard Davis book (and the Jeff Rona one you can buy with it) – both very good books for anyone who’d like to learn a thing or two about film music.
