GuestFor anyone who hasn’t read this yet, over at FSM they posted a discussion between a couple of their writers, and the subject was Spider-man 2 and the score. I thought it was a very interesting read (I found it somewhat more like a transcript from a radio show than a discussion but worth reading).

Guest“DA: I’ll say flat out, I hope Young inherits the Spider-man franchise. I think that he would do it well enough that I wouldn’t want to pluck my eyeballs out. And Elfman deserves to tell them to drop dead at this point.”
Nice.

GuestNo, I actually agree to some extend. I’m not sure if I want to see Chris Young land the gig, necessarily, but I somewhat hope that if they call Elfman for part 3, he prompty turns it down. Of course, I’d rather he used language akin to Dick Cheney’s now infamous comments on the Senate floor a few weeks back, but perhaps that’s just me…

GuestThey don’t think that the “Special Delivery” cue should have been that big but Debney did what he was told. I loved the way that scene turned out. When I first saw it, I laughed at the dramatic music for the not-very-dramatic scene. It is also a very catchy cue. It’s a shame that Danny wouldn’t score it, but in Debney doing what he was told, he ended up with a good cue.

GuestI thought that Spider Man 2 was what 1 should have been it sounded much more fanticiful, than the first and the chours was really out standing. Elfman could really do even greater work on 3, if he stays on.

GuestIf they let him… Doesn’t sound like the powers that be have been particularly supportive of Elfman’s great work.
