Why is this score so hard to find? I want to own it, and I found a copy of it on eBay, but I’m confused as to why it’s so hidden. It took me forever just to find a tracklist… I had to go to a Robin Williams site just to get it. I also noticed there isn’t much info on it on this site. So why is it so hidden?

If anyone owns it, can you review it for me please? I badly want it.

I recently picked up a copy of the ‘Good Will Hunting” sondtrack in a used cd section of a music store. It has the ‘main titles theme’ and ‘weepy donuts.’ And it has various artist featured on the album. I thought the cd was a good buy, and there is some great songs on there. I recently posted about hearing ‘Weepy Donuts’ appearing in various films in recent years. Look up ‘Weepy Donuts Cameo.’

I don’t recal how many cues Mr. Elfman provided for the film. What’s on the CD is most of what I remember from watching the film. I love the feelings in envokes. It reminds me of Fall. Another cd that envokes this essence is ‘The Straight Story’ score by Angelo Badalmenti.

I’ve noticed the soundtrack before. I didn’t want to get it because I was holding out for the score.

I finally found a tracklist that has been confirmed though. It’s 16 tracks and less than 30 minutes total. Looks like a great buy, but eBay has two sellers pushing it, and one starts at $25 and the other is a “buy it now” for $85. Eek.

Promo CD? As in, it’s not for sale anywhere?

It’s the Academy Awards’ Promo CD. It’s not for sale anywhere. The only CD that is for sale is the soundtrack that has only two Elfman tracks. You need to find a collector who has a copy and try to bargain for it. Do a search on the internet.

Damn! I missed a chance to swipe it for $35 the other day. Anyone can tell me if it’s worth the money? Someone else is selling it for $85, and I know I’m not willing to shell out those kinda bucks.

    Anyone own this promo disc?

It shouldn’t be that much money. Ebay has a lot of crazies who like scamming people.

As to the score, I have a copy. I found a soundtrack collector who parted with it because I was able to produce another rare score. It’s all a game. At this point here are all the Elfman CD’s I have in my possession, regular and rare. Many of the regulars are out of print now.

Bummer man. I guess it depend on how seriously you need the music, how much entertainment value you’d get out of it, and whether or not you’re sacrificing rent, eating, or all of your other obligations. Personally I don’t think it’s worth it. They are still selling the ‘soundtrack’ with two Elfman tracks that’s definitely worth buy for $16-20. …Or you can find it used at your local store or online I’m sure.

Here are some other rarities that I have that aren’t on Dawg Man’s list:

FAMILY MAN Recording Sessions 2 cd’s
FORBIDDEN ZONE COMPLETE SCORE (dvd rip)
    FRIGHTENERS EXPANDED
GOOD WILL HUNTING/BLACK BEAUTY one track from Scrooged
    NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS DEMOS
PROOF OF LIFE RECORDING SESSIONS 2 CD’S
RED DRAGON Final Mixes 3 cd
    SPIDERMAN EXPANDED 2 CD’S

Dawg Man just wondering does the scrooged complete recordings have sfx? How many tracks is it? How long is it?

    Thanks,
    9FE

Killer list, Dawg Man. I’ve been a huge fan of Elfman since I can remember. Most people think of John Williams when they remember their first scores (Supes/ET etc…) but I always remember Elfman’s Oingo Boingo days, and nothing stood out more to me than when I heard his work in Batman in the theaters. Only recently have I become more of a collector though.

Hey Elf, I’m curious about the Spider-Man 2 extended disk you have…. what exactly does it contain?

Crap! Why don’t I own this? Where can I get a copy of this? It looks fantastic, I’d love it.

    About the Scrooged CD…

It’s a combination of the MFADT material and cues recorded from the DVD. The cues isolate out the dialogue but “DO” contain some SFX. There’s a full Sleepy Hollow rip out there too with the same problem.

Yet… It’s still nice to have the additional cues (especially “Young Frankie” which has essentially no background noise).

    IT’s the same “Scrooged” CD.

You know, it would be nice if one day they released Summer School and Scrooged together like PeeWee’s Big Adventure and Back to School.
