Just saw Good Will Hunting on TV today, or part of it anyways. I haven’t noticed it until now, but Elfman’s theme sounds very similar to Thomas Newman’s theme from The Player. I actually like The Player better.

I’ve never understood the big deal about Good Will Hunting, both the film and the music. It’s weird that Elfman finally gets an Oscar nomination and it is for one of his more mediocre efforts.

I think the main deal with Good Will Hunting, is because it was a very simple story. That, and people tended to like the idea that it was made by virtual un-knowns….personally, I didn’t care for it. (The only good love story is a sick and demented one)!

Freeway, now there’s an Elfman score!

It’s a crime against humanity that it was never released.

yes I agree Both scores are very well composed Elfman’s tragic Boston sound for GWH and the funky Gituar Rythms for the Street punks in freeway. Reason for Elfman to do this beacuse he was the former lead Rythm gitarist in the old 80’s punk band Oningo Boingo if you listen to most of the songs on the Albums you can hear Danny’s musical writings just like any other musician you hear they’re voice in the music

It’s only worth something if you got something to trade for it.
