I’ve got a going debate going on with my brother about who did the Gremlins soundtrack. Now I could’ve SWORN I saw Danny Elfman’s name in the credits for who did the music, but nonetheless he says it was Jerry Goldsmith. It probably is, but I still would like confirmation. It’s just so Elfman I can’t seem to think Goldsmith would do something that weird.
Jerry Goldsmith did the score for Gremlins.
It’s a popular and utterly untrue belief that Danny had anything to do with that score.
Thank god.
Not that I think Jerry Goldsmith is a bad composer, it’s just that I don’t think that score was anywhere near Elfman’s calabre (for that kind of film).

GREMLINS is one of my favorite films and scores of all-time. Someone needs to release a decent album of the score… Soon.

gremlins is great, sure it smacks of 80s cheese but then so does beetlejuice
If you notice.. the older the movie is the better it is than the new especially with elfman and burton .. so if i had to say there 80`s – 90`s are really good but if i had to pick an all time movie from this year or last year that he has done is big fish and spiderman
