    Hi!

Do you guys know if Danny did the music for the Holiday layover of the Haunted Mansion last year? Im getting conflicting stories as to whether it was Him or John Debney adapting the Nightmare score. Honestly, listening to it you cant really tell who wrote it, but parts were definatly darker then last years version.

    Thanks for your help!

i read an article at laughingplace.com that says that danny will do the music for haunted mansion holiday. i cant imagine why they wouldnt use his music this year if they used it last year.

Debney never did anything fo HMH, he did do the Paris Phantom Manor though which is awsome.
Danny did some music this last year (2002) for HMH, he replaced the debut year score but some of his “cues” were replaced, like in the stretching gallery. They were replaced with the cues that were used it’s debut season, I forgot the composers name, but they were not really arrangements of NMBC themes but very good at sounding like the score.
Now it is a mixture of Elfman and the other guy who did a a pretty good job the first time.
The problem with Danny’s stuff from 2002 was that it sounds like he did a rush job, at least on the parts that were replaced like th stretching gallery. The first year’s cue really followed the naration and got more intense as the room stretched. Danny’s sadly just kind of hung there like wall paper.
Not all of his stuff was replaced, he did do some great arrangements of Kidnap the Sandy Claws and the like.

actully Joel, Debney did do the “Scarols” that play in the queue. Plus Ive read that he does a pretty good Elfman impersonation which is what got me thinking. Its good to know that Danny did the music himself, though :)

I agree about the stretching room music, Danny’s version was toooo dominate, it was also very dark, which I didnt mind but it didnt really follow/compliment the narration very well.

I really of hope that dont change the score this year…last years was perfect.
