It totally depends on the way the movie ends up going… anyway, I prefer Eliot Goldenthal’s Batman stuff… sorry, people!

I wouldn’t flaunt that on an Elfman message board buddy.

Oh, and I thought it was announced that someone else is already scoring the new movie. Wasn’t that already announced on comingsoon.net?

David Julyan. Some prankster on this board made a fake post on April Fool’s tha Danny Elfman was scoring, but it’s Chris Nolan’s usual composer, David Julyan.

Blah, I find Goldenthal’s theme almost monotonous.

Hey. I’m willing to bet the ranch that it will actually happen.

I’m just curious why you would say that you prefer Goldenthals theme over Danny’s on a DANNY ELFMAN WEBSITE. Eliot’s theme is so boring compared to the dark genius involved with Danny’s epic sounding overture. I’m sorry, it’s just that the original Batman (1989) inspired me as a child because of the music. Batman Forever had no inspiring qualities to me whatsoever, and thats partially because the music went nowhere. I respect your opinion, I just disagree and wonder why you would post that here.

Danny Elfman makes his distinctive mark on every film he attaches to.
The deep gothic plots and unwinding mystery lend to his endless talent !

    Batman 5 – No contest !

Whats the point really? I mean sure it would be a good score, but its not like its gonna fix the Batman series lol. I mean, granted, when I was like 11-13 when Batman and Batman and Robin came out, I liked them, and I hadnt seen the first two in a long time, cause when I was younger they creeped me out lol. But when I was 15 I saw Batman for the first time in almost 10years, and I thought it was definatly the best one, tho I still had kinda liked the last 2, but it didnt take long for me to just laugh at how dumb they were especially Batman and Robin. And Elliot Goldenthal’s is so predictable, I mean he recycled like half the score from Forever and used it again in Batman & Robin, I mean its not the worst score ever written, but its like this, had it been written for somthing else, it might have been enjoyable, but for it to replace the work Elfman did is really retarded. However, Danny didnt wanna do Batman Forever, so its not like he actually got booted per say, I mean he wouldnt have done it even if they really wanted him to, but that doesnt change the fact that the first two movies and scores are most certainly superior to the previous two.

While on the subject tho I will say that John Ottman’s score for X2 is way better than Kamen’s score for X-Men. Ottman was able to do a score that added the comic book element that the first film really didnt have at all. Its weird if you listen to the music during the credits of X2 theres a part that reminded me alot of Elfman’s Nightbreed score, with the percussion and choir and all.
