GuestI thought that David banner was Bill Bixby’s charater in the Show as portrayed by Nick Notle, not Bruce as Bruce Banna is playing in the movie. This could be a shaf-like sequl

GuestIt’s my understanding that Bill Bixby played Bruce Banner in the television show.
Take a second or two to proof-read those messages Robert, puh-lease!

GuestWell you’re both right actually
Bill Bixby portrayed dr. David Bruce Banner in the tv-series of The Incredible Hulk. According to Stan Lee, they changed his first name to David because the producers thought Bruce sounded ‘to homosexual”. Throughout the series he is called David, but in the opening you can always see Bill Bixby looking at his own tombstone (at the end) and there it says ‘David Bruce Banner’.
The movie Hulk, is very different from the TV-series (and to some degree from the comics as well). Bruce’s father, David, is called Brian in the comics, but they changed it for the movie. Maybe nostalgic reasons or something. But the character of David portrayed by Nick Nolte is not the same as portrayed by Bill Bixby (how can he, since that character died in the tv-movie ‘Death of the Incredible Hulk’).
This thread did kinda remind me of an old rumor about Charlton Heston’s character in Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes. Some people said he portrayed the old dr. Zaius from the original Planet of the Apes, thus making Burton’s reimaging actually a sequel. This would explain why he would know so much about the humans etc. but it would contradict with the ending of the second POTA movie, so it’s not possible if you think about it a little longer.

p.s. Elfman’s Hulk is a wonderful soundtrack. I really enjoy it!
