Guestgreat, another big film with no feeling.
I wish Danny would do a sentamental film again, even something like Black Beauty where his score could rule the film..

GuestJeffro’s comment seems to forget that not only it is possible to do a comic book movie WITH feeling (both Burton’s Batman movies – but specially Batman Returns – and I firmly believe that Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy will be one of those too), but also that the man in charge is the very talented Ang Lee, who did wonderful movies “with feeling” such as “The Wedding Banquet”, “Eat Drink Man Woman”, “The Ice Storm” and “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon”. I believe he’ll do a great job in “Hulk”, and I’m happy that Elfman’s doing the score and working with such a great director.

GuestMychael Danna has been let go as the composer of Ang Lee’s upcoming film of THE HULK, before the scoring sessions had taken place. His replacement is rumored to be one of two A-list composers: either the composer who for years was erroneously rumored to rely on ghostwriters, or the composer who not only uses other composers to help with his scores but openly credits them on his movies and soundtracks.
What????

GuestThose articles are usually written a few days in advance. Dan Goldswatter (sp?) the web master of soundtrack.net apparantly found out about Elfman’s assignment through Marvel’s legal channels while attending an “X-2” recording session.

GuestAh yeah! He’s doing ANOTHER movie! I really enjoy “Cronos,” but “The Devil’s Backbone” isn’t bad, either. Unrelated to Elfman, but had to spill it anyway. (Incidentally, “Cronos” would have made for an interesting Elfman score…)
