I’ve just realized that Danny Elfman never got a spot to say anything on the shows “I Love the 80s” and “I Love the 80s Strikes Back.” Oingo Boingo wasn’t popular but you’d think they would at least mention the band once. Or talk about some of the music in 80s movies… or… something. I don’t know. In a way, I think Mr. Elfman would have probably avoided a show like this. I missed the special on slasher movies with his few seconds of VH1 fame.

Perhaps one day they’ll do a VH1 special on Danny Elfman, but I don’t know if he’d like the attention… or if he’d have the extra time.

    Oh well.

Back some years ago Vh1 did a show called The Big 80’s: The Big Movies that showed the Weird Science video and mentioned before hand about Danny’s career as a film composer. I was also watching an episode of I Love The 80’s where Little Girls was playing in the background at one point. So he’s there, just not as prominantly. :-/

I I Love the 80s. I’ve seen every episode of both I Love the 80s and I Love the 80s Strikes Back forty times.

Because of this show, I think I can officially say I lived through the 80s, even though I was 4 when they ended.

They also used “Weird Science” in the background on I Love the 80s. I think they talked about the movie, too. No mention of Oingo Boingo, though. Damn.

    We pay attention to details.

7,000 years old, eh, Burt? Would you feel better if I called you the “wise sage of the Darkened People?” Don’t feel too badly, man, I’m not far behind :)

Eh, I lived through the eighties, and didn’t much care for them the first time ’round. So, figure I’m not gonna sit around and watch stuff that was cheesy, even back in the day.

Granted, not everything sucked (such as Danny and Tim and Sam and such)–but a lot of it did. I try and not go through it all again. If you loved the eighties, though (the TV show, or the actual time period)–well then, more power to ya.

Yeah, I was 5 when the 80s ended, and I love the 80s to death. I’m starting to see a trend.

Some of my favorite comedy movies are from the 80s:

    Real Genius
    Strange Brew
    The Three Ameigos
    Spaceballs
    Raising Arizona
    The Princess Bride
    Innerspace
    One Crazy Summer
    Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
    Big Trouble In Little China
    Back To School
    Fletch
    Clue
    This Is Spinal Tap
    Ghostbusters
    Private Eyes
    Midnight Madness
and all those great Zuker/Abrams/Zuker movies:
    Airplane
    Top Secret
    Naked Gun

The 80s will be fondly remembered by me.

I think there was one part that I saw from one of those shows that showcased Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, and (of course! ^_^) they were playing Elfman’s music for it in the background. I absolutely flipped when I saw and heard it come on. Yay!

Yeah, I used to watch it (TTA) with my college roommate about once a week. It has become so ingrained in my psyche that I have my mother reply “plethora” every time I ask her how much she loves me.

Incidentally I just saw the “I love the 80’s Strike Back” that uses Little Girls; it is the show on 1980 when they bring up Hungry-Hungry Hippos I believe.

I know for a fact (cause I have no life and watch nothing BUT I Love the 80s) that they used “Weird Science”, “Wild Sex (In the Working Class)” and “Dead Man’s Party”. So that was kinda cool. Even if they didn’t mention the band. But I was surprised when they did the segment on “Weird Science” and no one mentione the theme song. They usually DO.
