GuestI need help recording my compositions as .mp3’s or .wav’s . In cakewalk you can export to .wav, but I don’t know how. The option is blanked out and I can’t click it. If anyone knows of anyway to record my music to .mp3 format, please help! I have finale 2003 and cakewalk, those are the only 2 programs I have for music and that’s what I compose on, what hardware, software Do I need?
Thanks alot,

Guestok, first you have to MAKE a wav file before you can export one. Import an audio track, arm ONLY the audio track (make sure the metronome is switched off) and then record. Once you’re done recording, you can export the wav file. I don’t know if you can save it as an mp3, but I think you can.

GuestHi!
I’m not an avid Cakewalk user, but what kind of file does Cakewalk generally save as? I believe it’s MIDI. If so, then I would recommend checking out Melody Assistant. You can import the MIDI in that program and then export it to a variety of formats. MP3 is one of the options. If you’re interested, then goto http://www.myriad-online.com and check it out. It’s a fabulous program. Have a good one!

GuestNaaah. I wouldn’t recommend that . . . You can just do that in Cakewalk (or Sonar) itself.
