It’s unbelievable how some people are allowed to write about music in presumably reputed magazines. The prestigious british magazine “Uncut” of this month has such an idiotic review of the Hulk soundtrack! It may not be Elfman’s best, but to say such s**t as this:
“Danny Elfman, colossal hack of multiplex scores, dresses this beast…”
This moron defines one of the most important, creative and brilliant american film composers, with the career and filmography that Elfman has, as “colossal hack of multiplex scores”? Sorry, this is not being a reviewer; this is just being plain stupid and ignorant. Meanwhile, he seems to love song-oriented soundtracks (he gives the “Bruce Almighty” soundtrack 3 stars; Elfman’s “Hulk” has just ONE!). These are the guys who write about music today. Bah.
It would be interesting to see what that magazine gave 8 mile.

You just can’t take stuff like that seriously.
On the other hand, this sort of stresses the importance of the magazines that provide actual intelligent reviews of these things. Otherwise, the general public might take sometihing like the above as gospel.

It’s like flipping someone off in the dark, because it doesn’t matter to me (i.e. it’s not going to make me stop listening to Danny or the HULK score).

Some people doesn’t like Danny’s music, I can live with that. The fact that they have an outlet for that is a little disconcerting, but it doesn’t effect my tastes in the lest. And besides I don’t know the tastes of that person. I don’t think Elfman is required listening for EVERYONE – just use lucky few

Movie under-scoring is seriously under rated. Out of hundreds of composers only a few are known. People today thing a sound track is a bunch of crappy pop songs ( unlike fear and loathing in las vegas which was the best collection of 70’s rock EVER , this is a personal fav
) Nobody *really* notices movie music unless its pointed out , which i always do ( never sit next to me in a movie just ask my mom heh heh ). Well i lost my train of thought. So thats all im going to say about that. 
My thought came back and with a few spelling corrections
.. in the second line it SHOULD say think.I actually would like to be a music critic person .. i think it would be a cool job. And as for this guy , i dont think he really knows what he’s talking about. A man giving Bruce Almighty a 3 and Hulk a 1 is just idiotic. I dont care that he saying that Elfman score was bad ( well i do but hey not everyone likes him) but most pop tracks dont fly well with me.

Not to mention that some of the best cues are seriously dropped in volume (Just take Making me Angry for example, but a better one would be The Battle from Gladiator), so unless they acually review the score CD, you could miss out on a ton!

Some portuguese magazines also smashed Hulk`s score like the Uncut. But it`s their opinion aguenst ours. Keep on rolling Markl.
