GuestHey, guys, I went on holiday for a while. I was in sunny Florida, although it wasn’t quite that sunny…hmmm…nevermind… Anyway, as I was there, I picked up a copy of Blender for the flight back home to Britain. I came across an article entitled “The 50 Worst Bands of all Time”, and who would’ve thought that Oingo Boingo would come 16th?! What a load of ****, man! Celine Dion was also in there, even though she’s not a band. She may sing naff songs, but it’s not like she’s talentless. Besides, it was just one man’s opinion, right? I also won the Oingo Boingo Farewell Tour t-shirt on e-bay. I had it sent to my hotel. Lucky me!

GuestWell, that topic has been discussed, and we are all not very happy about it. Oh well, we all have our opinions, right? It’s not like because a magazine says something it’s true, and we all understand that because of our opposing opinion. So in closing, OINGO BOINGO RULES!!!!!

GuestWelcome back. Sorry the Blender thing came as such a sad shock for you. It sucks but I can’t say I’m surprised. Critics didn’t like Boingo back when they were together and they still don’t, and probably never will. In fact, the list was compiled by whole pannel of critics, not just one, so we’ve got a whole group of idiots istead of just one.
Btw, there are already two topic posts about the 50 Worst Bands list, just so you know.
I’m so jealous you have a Boingo shirt and I don’t.

GuestWho are you? Do I know you?
hehe, jk and welcome back. I was pretty shocked to hear about that too because with all the horrible bands out there they pick Boingo to be #16. It’s just shocking. But of course they had one of those unique sounds that was not part of the whole mainstream so they stood out like a sore thumb instead of just being totally looked over because they sound like everyone else. And when a band stick out that much, you have 2 choises: You can love ’em or hate ’em hehe.

GuestHere’s the section about Boingo –
Oingo Boingo – Artless art-rock (the cheek)
Oingo Boingo singer Danny Elfman went on to become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand soundtrack composers. But during his first go-round, he and his movie-director brother led this ostentatiously orchestrated LA New Wave group that began its pretentious career, not surprisingly, as a performance-art troupe.
I would just like to ask where are all the talentless pop bands in the chart; such as Backstreet Boys, Steps, O Town, The Cheeky Girls, The Fast Food Rockers, The Spice Girls, etc? Well, not even one of the above!

GuestDownload The Cheeky Girls Song by The Cheeky Girls for a laugh! It was written by their mother, which is quite a disturbing fact. You’ll understand what I mean if you listen to the lyrics.

GuestWelcome back, Tali.. You did miss out on the Blender discussion, but it’s not really a big deal. I think the consensus was that while most people here thought the list was crap, it’s only someone’s opinion and there’s no real reason to get our collective panties/bloomers/Depends in a bunch.
