GuestHello, all! I’m interested in what you think of my new composition. Even if you despise it, I want to know!!!

http://www.northernsounds.net/useruploads/img3fff7f6a7b65f.mp3 I just finished a couple of days ago. Sorry for the VERY poor quality of the mp3. It’s the only place I could upload it now.

GuestThanks! What’s an expander midi? I’ve never heard of it. I use a sequencing computer program called SONAR, and I use a sample set called the Miroslav Master Set, and various soundfonts I’ve downloaded on the web. I never use my keyboard (Korg M1) sounds. I only use it as a slave into my computer so I can play the samples into the sequencer.

GuestGreat Job…soundfonts really brought it to life. Elfman inspired chord progression, or film score inspired. I’m gonna email you so you can send me some more stuff.

GuestWow, Dantz – this is really cool! I love the triplets in the bassoon. A ‘typically Danny’ augmented triad at the start, there! hehe – top marks, Dantz! I have nothing NEAR this type of technology in my home! I hardly know how to use it. I can do Sibelius, Noteworthy and Cubase, and that’s it! hehe. I’m mostly a pen & paper guy. However, I’ve never heard of SONAR… is it only available in the states? What is this place you’ve uploaded your music to, and is it free etc? I’m soon to recieve a live recording of my latest piece, and It’d be great if I could put it up somewhere for you guys to listen to it.
Love the piece,
>:o)

GuestI’m surprised you never heard of Sonar. It is available everywhere, I think. I love the sequencer. I’ve tried Cubase, but I like Sonar better. It’s got a really nice user interface. I do have a webpage, and everything is free to download: http://www.nigel.has.it I’ve got a lot of old stuff there, and I have been uploading older stuff. I need to update with some of my newer stuff.

GuestIf I’m not mistaken SONAR is the new name for the sequencer formerly known as Cakewalk?
