GuestI know this question has probably been asked a zillion times before, but how exactly do you download the isolated score from a dvd?

GuestThe best way: hook up the audio OUTPUT from the DVD player to the audio INPUT on your computer. Use a recording program (I use Adobe Audition formerly Cool Edit) to record. Start recording on your computer, then start playing the isolated score on your player. In a nutshell.

GuestYeah, that’d probably be easier.

GuestYou could use a program to split the audio from the DVD if you’re after quality of sound, but only if your computer is relatively new. If not, and the score is already isolated, then a decent way of doing it is using a piece of recording software that can record what the computer hears. Many pieces of software do not do this. I’ve used Loop Recorder [www.looprecorder.de] before, which you can trial before buying. My 450MHz processor balked at using this plus DVD-Rom (but that’s because my onboard graphics chip is about to qualify for disability allowance and pension), though it’s fine with all other sources.
Just a thought…

just make sure you set the recording length right and also make sure you select the audio channel that has just the isolated score. In the end you will get one huge file then just use a basic audio editor to chop it up into seperate cues.
Super easy to use though
