Do any of you like James Horner?
June 13, 2002 at 8:24 pm #40325AnonymousGuestno answer seems to be the answer…
June 14, 2002 at 1:32 am #40327AnonymousGuestI like his two Star Trek scores (2 and 3), and his work on Krull is my favorite score of his. I wish he would give credit sometimes to the classical composers he uses as bases for his works, like Schumann’s Symphony theme he used in Willow. I think his talent for originality has gone down hill since Rocketeer. But his dramatic quality is still one of the best, however, if you are familiar with classical music, or film scores he does a lot to get on your nerves.
His early scores are a lot better than his new ones, IMHO.
Just some musings on Horner. Take’em or leave’em.
June 14, 2002 at 1:40 am #40328AnonymousGuestLet me just add, that I hope he does turn out more original fare in the future.
I’m not rooting against him.Maybe another foray into sci-fi will peek his originality?

But hellooooo, I don’t thik Ryan will like you to keep talking about other composers.
Maybe we should make a chat about that someday but we have to ask Ryan first.
