ParticipantFrom http://www.filmtracks.com :
Renowned up-and-coming composer James L. Venable, fresh off being hired for such high profile blockbusters as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and X3, can now add another shining gem to his future resume as he has been officially signed to replace Danny Elfman on Spider-Man 3.
Said Spider-Man 3 director Sam Raimi, “I’m confident James will be Venable to put his own webspin on the world of Spidey.”
Added producer Laura Ziskin : “I have no doubt James can take the reigns from Elfman. After all, their hair colors are similarhmm, i still hope they go with “Superman” concept, by having the themes adapted for the 3rd film.

ParticipantHad to be. Nobody’s attached to score X3 and Patrick Doyle is scoring Harry Potter 4. He’s not a bad composer, but I’d never let him near Spidey.

That would be a truely unique choice! Doyle on Spidey 3!

ParticipantI have no doubt that it’s a joke. But the credit on IMDB is scaring me.

ParticipantPlus the fact that Danny doesn’t get replaced… he gets bored.

ParticipantI personally want Danny Elfman to stay and do Spiderman 3 but in case he does decide to not compose the third which he probably will, I don’t mind James L. Venable doing it. It seems to me that he would do a fine job and be able to continue the spidey music the way it has been started. I think that as long as James Venable is able to compose for the next probably four spiderman movies the consistancy will remain the same and the music has the potential of being brilliant.
