i was watching one of the episodes of mst3k i bought yesterday, it was the movie cavedwellers. horrible movie, great mst3k episode.

anyway, in one of the host sketches, they make fun of the opening credits of the movie, and also add a bunch of their own credits. i thought it amusing when it said:

    Music by: Danny Elfman– AGAIN!!

ahh, funny stuff. just thought id share.

Great story. Now, please use caps at the beginning of sentences!! People complain that the color of the text on this site is hard to read… Well so are paragraphs without proper caps!

    Thank you! :)

Hmm… a very “relevant” reply from Ryan, no? For what it’s worth, I think the text is easy to read on this site… what’s wrong with the colour?
What is mst3k… is it something I wouldn’t know about, being a poor Briton? I think I need to buy a region 1 DVD player – then I could watch all the cool stuff we don’t get over here. It annoys me that not only are your DVDs better editions and everything, but you even get a whole TON of films that NEVER get released over here!!!
…Sorry, I went a bit off-topic, there. Anyway – what is this mst3k? And wow, I’m surprised there’s something Danny wrote for and I didn’t know about! hehe

MST3k = Mystery Science Theater 3000, a TV show wheras a guy and two puppets just watch really horrible old movies and overdub snide comments, remarks, insults, or sound effects to make it funny. I’m surprised it isn’t anywhere over in the UK…usually we get our best humor from you guys.

I had seen that Cavedwellers episode, and can only assume it was made some time in the the early 90s when Elfman was at his peak of a new movie or two every year.

Oh, and the text is easy enough to read, except for the links in Internet Explorer default blue…

    Other Episodes with References…

The Magical Voyage of Sinbad (mentions Oingo Boingo too)
    Santa Clause
The Final Sacrifice (extremely good one–Tom sings a song about him)
    Rocket Attack USA
    Pod People
    Cave Dwellers

    There are some others too…

It’s not the text ttht’s hard to read, it’s the links. Unless you turn the brightness and contrast way up, you can’t see it on the black background.

I just want to say that MST3K is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, period. We’re not lucky enough to get it up here in Canada, so I’ve had to check it out on friends’ illegal American satellite dishes and such…every episode I’ve seen has made me laugh until I physically hurt. It’s gold, Jerry. Gold.

Yeah, I’m obsessed with that show. I’m what you would call a MSTie. It’s kinda like a trekie, but for MST3K. I’m a dying breed, however, so whenever I hear people talk such good things about it like Burt, it brings a smile to my face. :)

    Dawg Man:

“The Final Sacrifice (extremely good one–Tom sings a song about him)”

Servo sings a song about Elfman in The Final Sacrifice?!??! Where is it?!?!! I know I only have the first half of the episode, but please tell me where in the episode Servo sings a song about Elfman. I know that he sings a song bashing Canada, but….Elfman?!?!?! WOW!!!! Or have I only mistook what you were saying…is it true?

Okay, now I have to buy Cave Dwellers as fast as I can…*nearly explodes with excitement* AWESOME!!!

This is so refreshing to know that there are Elfman fans here that like MST3K as well…*grins exctitcally*
