To the webmaster of this page, if you’re in possesion of the complete (whatever that means) score of Spider-man wich haven’t been released officially, why dont you posted on the site?
I mean, that’s not the music from the original album, so nobody gets hurt!
but that’s just my opinion….

Their the ones planning to release their music on data CD’s only, with software included to prevent reburning/achieving. They’d take you to court and push for outrageous punitive fees and measures just to make an example of you.
I agree that when a score is not for sale by the company in ownership thereof (or licensed to distribute), there is no harm in downloading it or distributing it freely. (Who’s getting hurt?) This is why I see no harm in my owning a bootleg of the Family Man score (which I had to painstakingly piece together from numerous sources). But if anyone were to decide to distribute it (in audio CD format) then of course I would have to buy it (both because I want an official copy and because I am certain that it is of better quality). The fact remains, however, that I have stolen this music (or more accurately copied it) from those that are greedily hoarding it to themselves. It was a conscious illegal action on my part.
Even if Ryan were to post the clips on this site in real audio format for streaming only, in extremely low quality, I could still rip the audio, and he could get in trouble for distributing if he did not have express written consent from the production studio (which I doubt he could get). People are really WAY too uptight about this whole music piracy thing. Makes me wonder how he gets away with having clips from the Family Man on this site. Couldn’t that be considered unlicensed broadcasting, or did he get permission to post them? (Don’t worry Ryan, I didn’t rip your Family Man clips. They’re too low quality.)
November 15, 2005 at 4:14 am #55847Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterThe clips are on this site simply because it’s a small fish in a very big pond. Studios are much more concerned with torrent sites, download programs like Grokster, etc. to worry about lo-fi samples on a film composer website.
