That would be my doing…I posted earlier about the advence preview that was launched on the web and how it had Edward Scissorhands. The new one makes it look pretty interesting. I actually saw the director Brad Siberling once when he was filming “Moonlight Mile” in my town.
The trailer was okay. It looks like a beautiful production (by some Burton regulars: Rick Henrichs, Colleen Atwood, and Emmanuel Lubezki), but damn Jim Carrey looks awfully annoying. And I have nothing against him (he can be very good), but I believe he was deathly the wrong choice, I found myself rolling my eyes toward the end (I hope I’m wrong though and it’s only the trailer that makes him look so bad in this. However, I believe the look and general feel of what the filmmakers were trying to accomplish will inspire a wonderful score. Thomas Newman could really do something grand and Elfman-like with the material. I’m looking forward to the score. As for the film…we shall see.
