Indeed, it might be the first time I’ve read a composer being so nerdy about another. Although I suspect Elfman’s passion for Herrmann to be somewhat similar.
McCreary will probably become one of Hollywood’s big names in years to come, along with Austin Wintory; they are both really talented. I recommend McCreary’s latest “God of War”, it’s a fantastic score and I actually hear a lof of Elfman in there (and I understand why now)…
