Yes this is happening. James Bobin (Alice 2) also pretty much confirmed he’s directing at the end of this interview.

Since they’re not bringing back Smith or Lee Jones music might be a smart way to ensure some continuity…

I really liked his work for the Jump Street movies.

April 8, 2016 at 9:01 am #58466ThorParticipantMothersbaugh and Elfman are old friends from the PEE WEE’S PLAYHOUSE days, as far as I know, but I doubt they’d collaborate on this. In fact, I dont’ think either will be involved. It sounds like a rather silly and random idea to combine these two things.
