GuestI apologize for bringing yet another composer onto this board, but I recently heard some music by composer Michael Giacchino on Cinematic Sound On-Demand (available at http://www.geocities.com/cinematicsound/on_demand).
Giacchino does mostly orchestral scores for video games, but it is better than a lot of stuff you hear in movies.
Of particular interest, his score for the video game Medal of Honor: Underground, which sounds surprisingly similar to Elfman’s Nightbreed.
I think his music is something Elfman fans will enjoy.

GuestEr, I have UNDERGROUND and it doesn’t really sound like NIGHTBREED to me… To each his own, I guess

GuestGiacchino’s Nightingale from Medal of Honor Frontline reminded me of the main theme of A Civil Action

GuestI remember playing the Lost World video game when it first came out. I wish I could find that game somewhere to buy just for the music. I even remember seeing the soundtrack somewhere in a music store but that was still when I was young enough to be getting an allowance instead of a job – – I didn’t have the money to buy it. I found somewhere to download one mp3 from it, but other than that I don’t have a clue where to get it now. Oh well :-p I remember it being really awesome. The game, too.

GuestHe also scores the t.v. series ALIAS and has several cues from the first and second season on his official website. Check it out. He’s a really talented composer and is doing stuff that no other television show gets close to orchestrally.
