I ALWAYS wondered if Spielberg and Burton ever met. Both really are film pioneers and icons.

Didn’t they kinda work together on “Amazing Stories” and “Family Dog?”

That’s funny. I’m watching something with Spielberg on TV right now. Very cool to see them interacting in this pic. Very nice. Cannot wait any longer for this film.

Yeah, both Burton and Speilberg were producers on the short-lived “Family Dog” animated series back in the 90s.

I thought Family Dog was just a TV movie?

It started out as an episode of Amazing Stories and turned into a TV show.

Yes, back when NBC, CBS and ABC were all trying to cash in the the popularity of The Simpsons; each station offered their own animated crap. Capitol Critters and Fish Poice were the other ones I recall. There is a great gag on one of the Treehouse of Horrors Simpsons episodes with the above mentioned titles appear on gravestones in Springfield cemetery.

Ah, the 90s… I believe there was a TV Guide interview from 94 or 95 when he was asked about “Family Dog.” He said that he and Burton weren’t given the budget to do anything memorable. Bad animation, bad scripts. The show was pretty much a placeholder.
