GuestThis is my first time on this site (quite spiffy, by the way) and I was wondering if there’s any talk as to when MUSIC FOR A DARKENED THEATER – VOLUME III is coming out? I’m sorry if it’s posted somewhere and I’m making someone repeat themselves … but I didn’t see it anywhere and I’d really like to know … THANKS!!!

GuestThis is one of those timeless questions that keep popping up every once in a while. I obviously cannot answer your question, but seeing as there was a 6 or 7 year gap between the first two volumes, we should be seeing a third in a not too distant future. I hope. It would be neat if a third volume would include these things:
a SUMMER SCHOOL suite, the PERVERSIONS OF SCIENCE theme, the FORD and NISSAN commercials and something from the STAINBOY cartoons (I don’t know if Elfman did just the theme or if he actually scored some of the episodes as well). Those kind of rarities would make the album worthwhile for fanatics like us as well….March 13, 2003 at 3:44 am #44359Anonymous

GuestIf it is all released as Volume III, it would have to be a series of CDs. Elfman has done a lot of stuff between 1996 and today. Considering each movie gets a few tracks, there would have to be three or four discs.

Guestyeah, i have been waiting, too. i have both volumes…but i think the third would have to be a triple cd! seeing as there is a huge gap from the last movie in vol.2 to now.
i just saw Black Beauty yesterday(volume 1?cant remember)…what a beautiful score! but he repeats the theme too much like Horner does…anyways, its wonderful..it made the movie MUCH better…sad movie, that one..
