ParticipantLa La Land Records released more of Shirley Walker’s work for Batman but it’s for The feature film(the awesome feature film I might add): “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” … Yes this was already released and can even be bought on iTunes but this is a special edition and has 27 EXTRA minutes of music… no Elfman fan should go without it… even though it’s not him!
Plus it has those awesome Liner notes… I love those!
Hurry.. ONLY 3000 copies!

ParticipantI never in a million years thought this would happen. I just bought mine!

You should just buy a copy and read it for yourself. : ) It’s an absolute must-have for any film score fan.

ParticipantWasn’t it a limited release and copies are sold out?

ParticipantAh, good point.
If it’s sold out, shouldn’t they just reissue it?

ParticipantThis shouldn’t have been a limited release to begin with, but oh well.

KeymasterIt is in fact sold out, which is awesome news. And it’s unlikely to be re-issued. Usually the deal the record companies strike to release these limited editions is based on unit numbers. La-La Land probably licensed the music for 3000 copies, and that’s it. They could re-up their license, but it could bite them in the end. If they were looking to spend the money it’s more likely they’d issue a second volume of all-new material and sell 3000 of those.

ParticipantIf LaLa managed to sellout 3000 copies then maybe WB should consider selling it themselves to the wide market.

KeymasterThey wouldn’t be able to. The rights reside with La-La for a determined period of time. The license to print additional copies would be the cost LL would have to pay.

ParticipantWell… I think they should do a Second Volume… I want to hear “Heart of Ice” and “On Leather Wings” … Those episodes stood out musically to me and I was sad when they weren’t on the release… even though it was an awesome CD!!!
