GuestWhy crap? Maybe Danny’ll add some class to a floundering enterprise (no pun intended).
And…it IS imdb.com, which is not to be trusted on anything that is still future-tense.

GuestOh, wait a minute. It shows up on Goldsmith’s IMDB profile, too. Well, at Elfman is a candidate!

GuestIt lists them both as the composers. I’ll bet that They’ll use Goldsmith’s themes, because he has not been well of late, and Danny will provide a complete score. I happened to like Nemesis a lot, and Planet of the Apes was sed in its trailer. An Elfman-scored Star Trek movie would make me very happy. Imagine what he could do with it!

GuestCome on: this is bulls#*%. Pure and unadulterated. An Elfman STAR TREK score would be neat, but it’s also pure fantasy. The film is a year or two away from production (if it even gets made) and Berman and company, I’m guessing, would never put up money to get someone like Elfman. Goldsmith is different because he said he likes doing the movies and gave the producers “deals” to make the economics of everything work out.
If they do change up composers, I’d guess that someone from the Zimmer organization would up filling the void, unfortunately. I’d rather see a John Ottman or someone else take the job, but I think it’s the reality of the world we live in.

GuestRight, John Ottman did oncw say that he’s a huge Goldsmith fan and he loves the Star Trek score. I’m sure it’s a fantasy of his to score a Star Trek. I trust him with it, especially after X2.

GuestCrap.

GuestStar Trek….frightens me. I grew up with one of those Trekkie fans, and it was disturbing. (Fortunately they didn’t dress up and go to conventions–but, well, it was on TV all the time–emphasis on all the time). So, I’m gonna hope Danny doesn’t opt for this little project.

GuestHe, i’ve said before that I would like to see him do a Star Trek Film, but not a crappy prequel. That’s just too lame.

GuestFYI… I just checked that link, and the “movie at the top” is Spider-Man 3 (Making for a very confusing board post until I figured out what was going on…), so the rumor has probably been dispelled.

GuestThere’s going to be a Spider man 3!? When will it STOP!!!

GuestIf you click that link and go and look and click “Fable” and follow that down to the “Recomendations” section, it lists Superman III. Freaky
