GuestI just purchased Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” on DVD, “Sleepy Hollow” on DVD, and the soundtrack of “Sleepy Hollow.” When I listened to the soundtrack, I noticed that during the Tree of Death track (and a few others, it accompanies the actions of the Headless Horseman about to kill, or as I call it, “The Hacking Theme”), I noticed an homage to the “Psycho” strings from the shower scene and the main titles of “Psycho” by Bernard Herrmann (Danny Elfman’s hero). This homage was most likely deliberate, and a very charming allusion to a master of the macabre. I just thought it was an interesting note (not pun intended). Danny Elfman also did the score for the remake of “Psycho” (I personally liked the original more, but the remake was a surprisingly good remake and I enjoyed it, too).

GuestI don’t remember him masturbating in the original.

GuestDamn I forgot about that. And several other things. Yeah, the remake sucked (Danny’s score was good), original one was best. I only saw some of the remake and I saw it before I saw the original. It’s been a while.
