amazing composer Elmer Bernstein died in his sleep today at age 82. He composed many incredible scores and he will be missed dearly. More below:
Sad news. One of my favorite scores of Elmer’s was, oddly enough, one of his lesser known efforts: HOODLUM. Brilliant finale. Very moving. Elmer was, by all accounts, a true gentleman and a consumate composer.

Sad news, indeed. Knock on wood, but John Williams must be getting reeeeally worried right about now.
This is terrible. Three in one month, two still very much active. This is very depressing, I loved Elmer.
Man. I just got The Magnificent Seven CD too.
“To Kill A Mockingbird” will never sound the same.
