Guestamazing composer Elmer Bernstein died in his sleep today at age 82. He composed many incredible scores and he will be missed dearly. More below:

GuestSad news. One of my favorite scores of Elmer’s was, oddly enough, one of his lesser known efforts: HOODLUM. Brilliant finale. Very moving. Elmer was, by all accounts, a true gentleman and a consumate composer.
