John Hughes has passed away at the age of 59. :(

Tim Burton put Danny Elfman on the map in 1985 with “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.” But, John Hughes during that same year put Oingo Boingo on the map with “Weird Science.” So, here’s to John Hughes, Weird Science, and Oingo Boingo. Hughes is gone, but the movie will live on forever.

Sad news. As an ’80s child, Hughes oeuvre was part of my mental formation.

Danny scored Flubber which was written/produced by him. So, they worked a second time 12 years later. Although this reunion wasn’t as successful, I’m afraid.

Sad news indeed. As Ryan said, he captured the 80’s youth so well that his films will stick with me for a long time…
