GuestCasanova by Nino Rota. All Elfman fans should experience it.
Sample here:

Not to mention that it’s Danny Elfman’s all-time favorite score, and that passages from “Forbidden Zone” and “Big Top Pee-Wee” (among much of his work) are clearly inspired by it. Check it out!

GuestDawg man,
La La Land Records will soon released a newly restored CD of the original Godzilla score, in honor of Rialto Pictures’ limited theatrical re-release (in the US) of the original Japanese version of the film. I’m looking forward to listening to sound clips.
Dylan
Oh, I’ll recommend 2 more CDs: “Obsession” by Bernard Herrmann and “Flowers in the Attic” by Christopher Young.

Guest“The Mollusk” by Ween
Good call, Dantz. Ween is in a three-way tie for greatest band in history in my mind. Every one of their records is amazing, and they’ve got tons of awesome, non-album stuff for people to trade too. Hundreds of hours of live Ween, entire unreleased albums that they released on their site for free, and so on. They rule way too hard.

GuestYeah, Ween is an extremely good band. But, a lot of their stuff is hit and miss with me. You never know what they’re going to do next (which is a good thing in a way), but some of their stuff is unlistenable (“Big Fat ****” for example). They do put out some excellent stuff, though. “Exactly Where I’m at”, every song on “The Mullosk”, “The Flutes of Chi”, “Baby Bitch” … Exceptional music.
