GuestI’ve read this bit here before, so I apologize to the poster if they think I didn’t believe them. But this from a review at DVDFile.com confirms that an isolated score track is available on the RED DRAGON DVD:
“There is also a second audio commentary slash isolated score on the disc, although it’s not labeled anywhere on the packaging and I almost missed it on the setup menu. Composer Danny Elfman provides about 20-odd minutes of commentary stuck in-between gaps in the soundtrack. He’s a fun guy and offers some interesting insight on how he worked extra-hard to make sure Red Dragon formed a cohesive trilogy with the other two Hopkins pics, but also stood on its own as a unique piece of work. The isolated score is presented in 5.1 surround, and sounds great. A nice, albeit hard to find, addition.”
Should be nice for everyone who wanted that bloody-bed “stinger” cue!

GuestI was static to hear about commentary/score and it’ll be great to hear the whole score, not that the Soundtracks wasn’t bad horror/classical orcestra

GuestI hope this isn’t too off-topic, but as long as the release date of a movie has been mentioned, can I please ask when The Two Towers comes out on DVD? I’ve been looking for about a month and a half online and I don’t know if it’s hard to find or if I’m just stupid, but I can’t figure out when I can look forward to some Howard Shore goodness.

GuestI think it’s safe to say that the dvd’s will come out the same time as the first ones. Early August and mid-November.

GuestAugust 26
The Lord of the Rings: The Two TowersOne week after Chicago is scheduled to come out on DVD (just trying to tie it in to Danny some how).
I don’t know if this will be just the theatrical release, with the Extended Edition coming later, like last year with The Fellowship, but I haven’t seen another release date.
Incidentally I’ve also noticed that Midnight Run is being released again on DVD – I have no idea if this is a Special Edition or not, I thought someone on here (ahumm Ryan) might know ANYTHING about this release?

GuestAs much as I love Elfman’s score for Midnight Run, I seriously doubt there will be composer’s commentary on the DVD. It just doesn’t seem like the kind of movie that would have one (not to mention the fact that it was made many years ago so we will be lucky to even get director’s commentary.)
