GuestDo you think that in Spider-man 2 and future Spider-man movies, Danny Elfman will use the Goblin theme (or at least little parts of it) for Harry Osborn (Goblin’s “son”)?

GuestProbably – to be honest, I reckon much of the music from the second movie will be reprises and old themes from the first anyway. There definately won’t be a new MAIN theme, and only something new for Doc Oc, probably. So, I think that’s highly likely.
………I think.

GuestMakes me wonder what Doc Ock’s theme will sound like.
Sorry, deviating from the topic a little.

GuestD-Bo i too am very anxious to here what danny has written.. From what i can tell from both trailers.. this movie is much darker and sinister towards the evilness of Doc Ock, so i am PRAYING that Danny writes somethign lower, darker and more bone chilling because the Green Goblin theme was too Saturday Morning Cartoon Sounding to me and i hated it, so i hope that the Theme itself is very chilling/action oriented and darker

GuestWell, when I first heard the Goblin theme, I was thinking, “What the heck is that?” But after watching the behind-the-scenes Danny Elfman feature on the Spider-man DVD, with him explaining that the theme was derived from the Goblin’s schizophrenia (I think I spelled that right) and insanity, instead of just your standard villain-type theme, I thought that was interesting. It’s definitely not one of my favorite themes, but it’s just a different and interesting approach, which is what Elfman does best. Ya know?

GuestWell here’s hoping he makes as new and as awesome a score for “Spider-Man 2” as he did for “Batman Returns”.

GuestThe Batman Returns score was much much better than the first Batman score. I’m hoping the score for Spiderman 2 will be better than the first.

GuestYeah, he’s had a chance to develop the ideas a bit more. Also, I’m hoping that we hear a noticeable improvement in Spidey 2, and maybe the next 1 or 2 scores afterwards. From personal experience, and talking to other composers, I know that when you take a break away from your normal life, especially your composing life, you come back with some really fresh ideas, and fresh ways of thinking. Maybe we’ll see this in Danny’s work, now he’s just got back from his honeymoon an’ all. I don’t think he’s completed a score since he’s been back yet. So, we may see a high peak in his scores.
