GuestJust to let you know, if you live in the LA area they are showing ‘Big Fish’ at the Egyptian Theatre on Tuesday December 9th at 7:30pm. Yup, that’s one day BEFORE the limited release. Tim Burton himself will be there to discuss the movie afterwards. It’s gonna be great. This will be the second time I have seen Tim Burton speak this year; ain’t I a stinker?

GuestIsn’t the Egyptian Theatre the one on Hollywood Boulevard? If so, I’m there
It would be the second time I had seen him this year too, and then second time on Hollywood Boulevard
Any more info besides that?December 3, 2003 at 5:42 am #46984Anonymous
GuestYeah, I just checked . . . it is the one on Hollywood Boulevard. I guess I’ll see you there – – I’m just disappointed because I’ll probably have a hard time finding someone to go with me! (My college is a very unusual program – – I’m basically surrounded by the same 50 people every day and never really meet anyone else, and we’re all going to be at school at 6 every morning so it’s not likely I’ll find anyone else who wants to see a movie that they’re not interested in in the first place during finals!)
I was just having a hard time finding out how I’m supposed to get tickets for this thing. Do you know? Can I call and order in advance or is it gonna be a first-come-first-serve basis?

GuestThe unfortunate thing about getting tickets at the Egyptian is you have to GO THERE and get them early. It’s a pain in the ass, (well, not for me, I live right around the corner) but it’s well worth it. I can’t wait.

GuestSo it’s near Hollywood and Highland, right? As many times as I go to Hollywood Boulevard I’ve never really paid attention to look for it. I also saw that the discussion with Tim Burton is “schedule permitting”. That makes me nervous; I hope he doesn’t decide he just has better things to do and then ducks out.
Also, I assume that you went to the Nightmare Before Christmas thing at the El Capitan this year, right? That situation really pissed me off because there was a fiasco with the seating. Myself and many others that I talked to bought good seats and then got gipped and stuck in the back. Any knowledge of whether or not seating is reserved at the Egyptian Theatre?
And go figure, all three people I’ve asked to come with me so far said yes. I guess there’s more Burton fans than I expected!
Thanks so much for the heads up; I never would have known about this otherwise.

GuestSold out, oh MAN! I had no idea it would sell out so quickly. I’m sorry. That really sucks. Sorry, I didn’t find out sooner.
