This probably doesn’t matter to, well, anybody…..but Sledge Hammer (which Danny composed the theme for) was just recently released onto DVD. I’ve never been able to actually hear that theme, so for any one else out there who hasn’t, I’m sure purchasing the DVD would fix that.

I probably won’t buy it though, but FYI.

The series is hilarious. In the NAKED GUN vein. The theme is fun, but very short.

Maybe I will buy it. I only know this because I work at Best Buy, and a couple people asked me for it today. I found the DVD and thought, “Hmm, this seems familiar.”

I really hope this show holds up; I remember loving it as a kid. And the fact that it’s got an Elfman theme gives it a couple of extrra cool points, of course.

I bought the DVD box set, and it was fun to hear the wonderful Elfman theme again. About the series, it didn’t age specially well; it has some great, inspired moments of lunacy and satire but it looks incredibly clunky and sometimes amateurish (and not exactly in a good way). Anyway, it’s still watchable and even when it fails, that’s because they bravely tried to do stuff not many people were doing at the time. Sometimes it even beats “The Naked Gun” in lunacy.

The Sledge Hammer theme DID find its way onto one of the TeeVee Toons series of discs…the ones that had scads of 60’s through 80’s theme songs on them. I didn’t have the money to buy it though. :-(

Do an Amazon search for “Tee-Vee Toons” and see what you get. I don’t have the time to do it myself right now and help y’all out. Sorry.
