Am I going crazy, or is this the fourth time I’ve read this post in the last week?

I agree with Sleepy. This one was more speculative, but practically the same thread:

    Dear follower of Elf….

I know of two people that have met the Elfman. One guy was a scout leader for some dude I knew. I was at his EAGLE SCOUT CEREMONY (applause applause)
and the guy said he used to do sound in clubs in L.A. and thereabouts. I later on started ranting about Danny (I was only about 14, nine years ago, but a huge Elfman fan) and he said, “oh yeah, I hung out with him once” I went into hysterics, especially cause there wasn’t much internet stuff goin’ on. He had nothing much to say except he kept going on about how much he wanted a
calliope, and that they were the coolest intruments on earth.
The other guy never really talked to him, but interned at a studio (again, around L.A., I think) and he mearly mentioned that he would randomly be in and out of the studio. Once I met a girl named Weasle, and she said she was related to Danny, and knew alot of obscure stuff about him, but I think it was bullshit. It didn’t help that she spent all of her time in a Denny’s in Lombard, Illinois. (somehow)
anyway, those first two are very true, and at the time I heard either it just made me feel worse that I couldn’t meet him. on a side note: the only elfman I’ve listened to lately (aside from Big Fish) is Little Demons and Gimme A Break, Woke up Clipped and a great live version of Forbidden Zone. Sorry I rambled so much.

Calliopes are the coolest instruments on earth – well, next to Balinese (not Javanese) gamelan ensembles…

What were those 19th century violins called that had horns attached to amplify them called? Yeah, them. They’re pretty damn cool.

I met Danny Elfman twice. Both times where during public appearances, (NBC studios when Boingo was on Jay Leno and at Tower Records for the Farewell signing), so he was expecting to be approached, I’m sure. Not much to tell because I was pretty much goofey and stupid in his presence, but he was really nice me just the same. But then again, I am kinda cute;)

theremins are awesome…i just got this movie about the creator of the theremin called Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey. It is absolutely crazy, basically I think everyone who has used one is insane (Brian Wilson proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt in his segment of the movie) . Anyway, I saw this crazy guy Cornelius at some small venue is Chicago. He called someone up from the audiance and used one of the kids hands with one of his to play “Love me Tender”

I believe the insertation of laughter means it’s a joke….

But Beth has seen the boy in person–not once, but twice–and that alone is reason enough to state that she is saucy!

I met Danny one time in Santa Monica, back in 1997. He was in line to buy tickets for Howard Stern’s movie Private Parts. He was with a very beautiful young girl. I asked him if he was a fan of Howard Stern and he told me he was a huge fan and he thought Howard was a genius and he couldn’t wait to see the movie. I shook his hand and said it was great to meet him. I thought that he was very cool.
