    To whom it may concerned

    Hi.
I’m sorry to send a e-mail without any permission.
My name is Bomi Kim, and I’m studying musictechnology at Ehwa Womans Univ. in Korea.

I was surfing web-site to get some materials to have a detailed plan for my thesis for a master’s degree.
And I could easily find your web-site and I determined to e-mail you.

I really need the full scores of NMBC(The Nightmare Before Christmas).
Because of, I respect Danny Elfman as a great musician.

So I would like to write my monograph on about what kind of interaction exist between musical animation ‘NMBC’ and his musicology.
For that, I’ll have to request some infomation to Disney or Sir. Danny Elfman.
Or I’ll have make an effort to get the full score of NMBC.

I already found NMBC’s score for Piano, Guitar and Vocal at the shop. But, I really need to get full orchestra’s version.
If that’s not available, I’ll be greatful with the other versions consists of ensemble or etc on a larger scale of Pf, Gr and Vc.

Actually, to write the exact thesis, I should have the score for full orchestra.
Please let me know what I have to get it, if you know the solution.

I’m sure, I’ll do my best to write my thesis to not to compromise his reputation.

Please give me the answer. I wish this e-mail doesn’t make a nuisance.
please excuse for my poor English :)

    Best wishes
    Bomi Kim

i don’t think there is an orchestral score available for nmbc. i think it’s difficult to produce full orchestral scores for filmmusic.

    all the best,

Nope. There is not an orchestral score for NMBC available, or any other Elfman score. So sad. :(

The written score is property of the studio, so you need to start there.

Mr Dantz – what you say is not strictly true. There are some orchestral “arrangements” of one or two score excerpts (main titles and the like) as well as the band and piano ones. Additionally, since much of the music from Batman and Batman Returns has been re-recorded, it is likely that a performable orchestral score of some sort is available for commercial purposes. Perhaps since NMBC is a musical, and has been arranged commercially as a songbook, there is a greater chance of success (albeit only with wadjes of dosh) in discovering a studio score. Not, helpful, I know…
