It’s not bad man but I gotta say this (since no one else has). Your post had nothing to do with Elfman, and this is a Danny Elfman forum. If you had wanted to get people to listen to your stuff, you should have just mentioned that at the end of a different post. This topic will acually probably get deleted before you can read this reply though. Most people on this board get really pissed off when people do this too, so try not to do it elsewhere.

I liked the music, sounds dark, and its easy to criticize and say bad
things…. what I say is that you can do better, I think you are young

you are right man, im 20 years old… and i composed that songs when i was 18 years old… im studing to make better songs, and i have a lot of different songs here, nothing just dark songs… but classical musics too, egyptian musics, arabian musics… and more and more…
maybe in some years i can do somenthing really good!

I think not. 2) This was VERY different from what Elfman does, so it's not a rip-off. Acually, it reminds me of the instrumental tracks on Cradle of Filth's CDs. I can say this, keep working at it man, score some indie films, that kinda thing. Don’t wait, do it while your still learning. That will give you a little edge on the other composers out there if you are 35 with a hundred films under your belt (if you can pull it off but it is REALLY hard, trust me on that). Oh yes, It’s very different indeed – it’s poorly composed and boring. There are thousends of so-called “composers” who sound like this.

This is just plain bullshit, but I’m not surprised you think like that. If your music is bad, great samples wont help – there’s still hilarious orchestration, lack of structure and just bad music writing.

, opinions like medeiros and knight inspire me to make better and better pieces… and i can say that you hear 3 of my songs, and is not all my pieces and are old pieces. Now im composing very better ones, and with very good samples… but i will just put at mp3.com when im totally shure about they are really good, and with good instruments… when i compose that songs in the site, i was with a veryy bad problem… i was a problem with put in the computer what was in my mind… but know, after much study, the problems end, and know i can go everywhere where my imagination want to take me… because now, mind and heart, walk together… so… wait me, i have much time yet…Rafael Luiz Colatusso

i can’t comment on the music because i won’t go listen to it because it was a spam post, really. i think that was the point trying to be made. it’s different when it’s a long time regular saying, hey guys, need your opinions… also different when there is a thread, let’s say talking about trying to achieve a particular sound and a poster says, oh gee, i think i achieved that, listen to this…
i think what made the post seem really spamish was the whole post being totally unrelated to elfman then that little ‘elfman kicks ass’ tag at the end. it was like our brazilian friend KNEW he should talk about elfman on and elfman site and stuck that in to cover his ass (the thing elfman kicks).
the off topic post really doesn’t bother me. they’re pretty rare here and at least this was related to composition. i think it’s amusing that such a big issue was made of it.
as to ryan sleeping on the job, i doubt that. he probably just didn’t think it was that big of a deal. i think he’s figured out that people will just ignore the threads they aren’t interested in reading.
i think ryan’s bot is alseep though. sucks didn’t change to rocks. what’s up with that?

Ever heard of being supportive of other people's dream? The fact that you write music makes it even worse, because you probably know how it feels when someone tells you your music sounds like crap. Knight (I hope that made you feel better)Maybe if all composers ate waffles for breakfast, things would be a lot less tense in this thread! Then again, if I ate waffles for breakfast every morning, I would be a very happy person indeed! But onto other matters than waffles…if you’re going to criticize someone’s music, email them directly.
