GuestThere is a teaser for the next trailer for Spider-man 2 at http://spiderman.sonypictures.com/ (just click on the “Trailer Sneak Peek” and then choose a player). I really don’t think the music on the clip is actually by Danny Elfman, but it’d be nice to know for sure. If not, what’s it from, or was it made specifically for the trailer?

GuestThey are teaser trailers (the name is very suitable).

GuestDanny Elfman would never write such generic trailer filler!

GuestDidn’t think so (never wrote choral stuff like that before)! Never hurts to ask.

GuestOf course it isn’t Danny. I’ve actually seen the full trailer (don’t ask how) and it is pretty much awesome. It looks like Danny’s got a lot of very emotional/action-packed material to score adn I know it’ll all be great!

GuestIt sounds very much like that choral music used to great effect for the original Matrix trailer. Can anyone remember what the group was that “designed” that music? I remember someone telling me back then (when the Matrix was “cool” – bought Matrix3 yesterday, though. Still a good romp).

GuestThe original MATRIX trailer used music from “The Eyes of Truth” by Enigma, which doesn’t really sound like the stuff used in SPIDER-MAN 2.

GuestSorry Ryan, even then I was stupid enough to mix up the Matrix trailer music with that of the original Spider-Man trailer. It was the Spider-Man trailer I had in mind. Don’t suppose you remember whose music was used in that? (Apart from the Elfman parts). Someone was kind enough to tell me on the EZ board a few years back, but the post’s been “archived”.
