GuestRelease Date for third installment is for May 2007.
True facts that Sam Raimi mentioned during the first premiere, that he already knows what the plot would be for the third Spiderman film. Also recently confirmed that Raimi said that there will be 2 villians in the next one, but won’t say who. My guess is the Lizard will be the primary villian and that…(SPOILERS)
a certain best friend by the name of I don’t know….Harry Osborn will be the Green Goblin 2. Actually at this point, does Harry know everything about his father being the Goblin. He appeared at John Jameson and MJ’s wedding as if nothing happened with his knowledge about Peter being Spiderman and his father having Goblin arsenals in a secret room. Maybe he’s planning to kill Peter/Spiderman himself using his father weaponary. That could make it much harder for Peter and MJ’s relationship, considering that she knows about his identity. That could make a great plot for the next one. Hummm…..

GuestAh yes, but more relevant to this board: will Elfman be back? My guess would be no… but it’s solely a guess.

GuestNah. They’ve got enough score material from 1 and 2 to re-use in the 3rd one.

GuestHe would have to come back to write a new theme for the Lizard or whoever the primary villain is.
God, don’t you people think?

GuestIt was a joke, smartass.

GuestI thought Harry became the Hobgoblin? Don’t know much about the comic books so I was going off of what my friend and brother were saying, but they also said that in the books Dr. Connors is the name of the Lizard in real life (Peter’s teacher in the 2nd film). Also adding an astronaut to the mix means that Venom is now a possibility right? Again, I know very little of these matters but I did read in Cinascape that Raimi didn’t like Venom as a character because he didn’t think his motivation for hating Spider-man was real enough.
Just my 3 cents worth (and frankly between you and me, it’s not even worth that).

GuestIMDB has Danny listed for Spiderman 3 but, heh, you know…..

GuestMaybe Danny will sign on to play one of the baddies.

GuestYeah, Danny is signed on to compose the third installment. I would love to hear how the Lizard’s theme would be. As the next villian, I would love to see Kraven the hunter. He was great! I already know how his theme would be, because some of danny’s themes, sound jungle-like.

GuestDantz…I know it was a joke on your part, but I was referring to “teh”…whatever the hell that means.

GuestAccording to the original comics, virtually everyone that Peter Parker has had contact with since birth becomes a super villian sooner or later.
Personally, I hope Elfman turns down future SPIDER-MAN installments. I’d rather see (hear?) him do more interesting projects where his labor is given more courtesy than it was on part 2.

Ha-ha, no doubt made into a supervillian after a risky science experiment gone awry.
I wouldn’t mind having someone else taking a crack at a score, as long as the composer doesn’t stray away from Elfman’s original material.

GuestSam Raimi said to the BBC that he has recently finished his first plan of the story for part 3. What he can’t decide on yet is whether or not Harry becomes the Goblin or whether he realises that his father was a murderer and understands what Peter had to do.
As for the music I’d like Elfman to return but maybe after that I’m not sure.

GuestPersonally, I think it would be a little too typical if Harry all became another villan. I think they ended it nicely with him in the second movie, seemingly realizing that he was wrong about Spiderman. They should leave it at that – give Harry a role as a “good guy” in the next movie or something. I dunno. Anything but another villan, it would be boring, and we all know how the plot would play out so it wouldn’t be interesting at all.

Huh.
See, now I felt the music for #2 was more enjoyable.

GuestWell, a lot of his music never made it into the movie! I just got the CD, and there’s a ton of music on there that wasn’t in the picture.
