I was bored, so added some Elfman music to 3 of the 7 clips released by IGN today.

April 18, 2007 at 10:14 pm #58814Danny BurtonParticipantGuys, you may say I’m on crack, but although it sounds like a copy/paste of the main titles without the percussion, I LOVE that rendition of the Spider Man theme, and that he made such a BIG statement of it during a moment like that left me with a huge grin.
I can not wait to see the film.
April 19, 2007 at 3:19 am #58818Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterHow hard was that though? The theme was written for him!

April 19, 2007 at 7:18 am #58823KnightParticipantErr…if the whole score is like that the credits should read: “Music by Danny Elfman” then “Adapted by Christopher Young”. I mean, there was NOTHING new in there, and there should have been because it doesn’t fit the scene as it is. The beginning is fine but it should have gotten much more tense before it dropped out, this is just common sense. I think Young is being lazy here, lets hope the whole score isn’t like this.
Knight (who has nothing against Young for replacing Elfman, but just wants a good score to this film)
April 19, 2007 at 7:54 am #58824Descent Into MysteryParticipantSome of the comments have been kinda confusing. You are aware that all I did was add some Elfman’s music to some of the IGN clips. Here’s the link to the clips with what Young composed: http://iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2319&Itemid=99
Well, anyway, I tried adding some Elfman to the Peter vs. Harry fight and it was VERY difficult but check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfYKCCTE_C4
and let me know what you think.
April 19, 2007 at 3:11 pm #58827KnightParticipantOh, my bad dude, We where responding to TenderLumpling’s post. I’m trying to watch as little of Spidey 3 as I can before I see the actual film, don’t want to spoil it and all. Props for taking the time to do this though, I know how hard making a temp track can be.

April 21, 2007 at 1:43 am #58833Spidey-FanParticipantWhile I agree that the music for the Crane Sequence does reek of “temp track fever,” just hearing a new rendition of the theme like that in all its glory just pumped me up so much. I hope the rest of the score is good.
April 21, 2007 at 6:37 am #58836JockolanternParticipantAfter viewing that scene where Brock becomes Venom and hearing the music during the Parker/Osborne fight sequence… my faith is totally reassured that Young has done Elfman justice and really tried to stick in the same style and vein as Elfman’s music whilst using his own great techniques of writing dark film scores. That new theme for Venom on low brass is simply fantastic sounding; I can’t wait to hear the full score!

April 25, 2007 at 10:16 pm #58906Spider-FanParticipantI jut saw a Wal-Mart commercial advertising “Spider-Man 3” toys, and they used the “Cops and Robbers” cue from “Spider-Man 2” over footage parts of the crane scene from the new movie! I gotta say, it was arguably better than the Chris Young cue we know will be actually placed there. But it seems like Wal-Mart knows a lot more about Spider-Man music than Christopher Young does.
