GuestI thaink that danny could provide a great fun score like pee wee big adventure The siiliness of it would help lighten danny super hero score load

GuestHate the show. Not looking forward to the movie. Cannot understand why “Invader ZIM” was abruptly cancelled. Elfman score would come off sounding choppy due to ADD-inspired directions the characters make.

Guestinteresting point of view never thought of the add thing……..

GuestIf there was a score album (the only way there will be one is if a BIG name composer like Elfman if involved), it would probably have sixty separate cues ranging from thirty to forty-five seconds. “Squidwirt’s (sp?) Scherzo” would be a great track title.
As for lightening Elfman’s load, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” will hopefully suffice.

GuestRandy, how do you then explain the score CD for the first POKEMON movie (definitely no big names there)?
Nat
Just funning with ya.

GuestTwo possibilities…
1. Record Execs must have thought that kids will pick up anything with the Pokemon name. Even a score CD.
2. The composers have pictures of the Record Execs in compromising posistions with a variety of barnyard animals.
By the way, which orchestra performed the Pokemon score? Was it a foreign one?
July 27, 2003 at 9:43 pm #46007Anonymous
GuestNo mention of the Orchestra anywhere in the package but it did use an Orchestra.
The composers that worked on the score are:
Ralph Schuckit
John Loeffler
John Lissauer
John Angier
Manny Corallo
Ben Grey
Deniz HughesI found this CD Used and thought it not bad for a score to a film like this (note: I’ve never seen the film). It is also a very flowing listening experience for a score touched by so many hands.
Nat
P.S. Why wouldn’t Record Execs also think that anything with Spongebob Squarpants also sell?
July 28, 2003 at 6:27 am #46010Anonymous
Guest‘Cause the Pokemon score didn’t sell too well, silly:)
July 28, 2003 at 11:44 pm #46020Anonymous
GuestWell the one I bought used sold.
I haven’t seen the score anywhere else, so I don’t know what kind of circulation it had. How many units DID The score sell Randy? Just curious.
It was released by KOCH who is known more for their classical releases.
Nat
P.S. the composer involved can always release a promo CD (ala Rocky and Bullwinkle)

GuestI worked at Best Buy at the time of its release. Out of the fifteen copies we received, one was purchased… and was returned within two days in exchange for the song album. They were sent back to the distributer during our next return. Those are the official numbers for at least one Indiana Best Buy.
Does the Spongebob show have a regular composer?

Guest15 Copies! of the score!?!
We got about 30 Copies of the song album, but none of the score. The song album sold reasonably well (mostly because it came with a free card) when I worked at a Disc Jockey (it became an FYE after a buyout – that was fun) in Tupelo, MS (Elvis Mecca land). I found that used copy at a Turtles in Memphis, TN.
At our store I was about the only one who purchased a score CD (we usually received only 2 unless it was a John Williams score).
Nat
“We put out on Tuesday.” (actually on Monday night, but only those on the inside know that (right Randy (wink, wink, nudge, nudge))).

P.S. Just trying to let people know that they were buying the Blade score instead of the Soundtrack was an adventure in itself.

GuestIncidentally, I wonder what the Soundscan numbers where on the CD?

GuestI always dreaded having to explain the difference between the score and song albums…
CUSTOMER: Whatta ya mean there’s no songs on this one?
ME: All it has on it is the instrumental underscore.
CUSTOMER: What the hell is that?
ME: Just trust me on this one, sir.July 31, 2003 at 1:15 am #46039Anonymous
GuestHa, that’s funny!
I always dread, when asking for a score, getting the “this one has no songs on it, you know” explanation.two sides of the same coin, both misunderstood.

GuestI just asked people if they wanted the score or the soundtrack when they brought up a score CD.
If the are to proud to ask what’s the difference then they should have to bite the bullet and buy both – which did happen on occasion.
At least if they ask you can educate them – whether they like it or not.

And if they did want the score, I just meet someone I could have an interesting discussion with.
