GuestNever have I been so aroused looking at a puppet. This movie is going to be it, I don’t know what, but “it” is going to be something.

GuestCan’t wait to hear Elfman’s score to those visuals.

Guestwhen did this corpse bride thing happen? I have never heard of this.

GuestIt’s been discussed here for, I think, a year now, maybe more.

GuestWhile at that site, did anyone check out the new Batmobile? I definitely preferred Tim Burton’s Batmobile. This one looks crazily bad. It is unwise for an artsy director to take an expensive Batman movie.

GuestIt was announced more than a year ago, but Danny Elfman was only officially confirmed as it’s composer last month. It’s one of the most eagerly awaited films and scores for members of this forum. The release date is Halloween, 2005.

GuestWow – this is going to be SO damn cool! I’m definately reminded of NMBC. This might sound a little far-fatched, but once the film’s big release, and normal DVD or whatever is out, do you reckon they’ll do an NMBC/Corpse Bride boxset? Just a thought, as they seem very similar.
And, yes… looking at that Batmo-off-roader-drag-racer-piece-of-crap makes me want to throw up! I feel sick at the fact that someone could happily come along and destroy such a strong visual image of what Batman’s all about! Surely, at least some of the overwhelming bad public feedback is getting through to them… I’d HATE the Batman world to be destroyed – I reckon it’s still redeemable, even after that last film!!!

Guestuhm… the batman world has already been destroyed… Sorry to remind you that, but Schumacher did his destruction job… It can only be better!!!
Ok, the batmobile looks like a Jeep, but perhaps this time, batman won’t carry a Mastercard, or eat drive-thru!!!!!!Erix

GuestIs the Corpse Bride the sequal to Nightmare Before Christmas? The picture seems to bear this out. After all, Jack did end up with a big family. Maybe this should be Father of The Bride III, where the ceremonial decorations come alive and slaughter the congregation…?

Guest“This one looks crazily bad. It is unwise for an artsy director to take an expensive Batman movie.”
rubbish man.
i loved tims batmobile…but to be honest this really is how it should look. batman wouldn’t design a really cool looking fast racing car…he’d get all the armoured parts he could and make something like this…a tank almost. it’s a better concept than the sporty looking cool car, which i still loved. but lets face it, what would scare you more…a cool looking race car driving down the street or this big bastard??!! it’s definitely better than the poofmobiles from the last two batmans!

Guest“Is the Corpse Bride the sequal to Nightmare Before Christmas?”

GuestThe story’s actually based on Ben Harrison’s book “Undying Love: The Shocking True Story Of a Passion That Defied Death.”
Very, ummmm… interesting story.
There’s a link to a review of the script Danny orignally wrote. Take it with a grain of salt and all.http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/316/316132p1.html

GuestSo Danny wrote the script for this?
June 13, 2004 at 1:49 pm #50573Anonymous
Guestnot for this one, no. He wrote a script a few years ago based on the book Undying Love, but Caroline Thompson wrote the script for Corpse Bride.
