    I know this isn’t explicitly Elfman-related, but as I know there are many aspiring film composers on this forum, I wanted to add a link for the Turner Classic Movies Young Film Composers Competition:

    You need to submit around a minute of original music for one scene from the silent film, “Beau Brummel.” The deadline for entry is in March, and the grand prize is not only a macpro desktop with all the trimmings, but also $15,000 and the opportunity to score the entire film.

    Yeah, I did this a couple years ago when I was, unfortunately, not quite 18 and wasn’t allowed to enter…but did anyways, for the experience. I definitely plan on participating again this year.
